How to Create a Spa Day at Home

3 Mins read

Everyone deserves a spa day every so often, especially when life can be a little stressful, but not everyone has spa day money or time. The good thing is with a little planning you can create a spa day in the comfort of your home.

The Refreshing Water

One thing special about spas is the water. Usually, the water has been infused with colorful fruit, vegetables, or herbs. When it’s given to you, the server tells you about the ingredients that were added to create the refreshing taste you end up sipping on. The good thing is creating spa water isn’t as hard as you might imagine.

All you need is a handful of fruit, such as strawberries, citrus juice like a lemon, a few fresh leaves of something like basil, and some ice water. The fruit should be poked; the leaves should be scrunched up, and you should top it off with cold filtered water. Let the mixture sit for about an hour so that you can enjoy those flavors with every sip.

Luxurious Oils

You must pay attention to the rubbing oil you are going to be using on your special spa day. There are a lot of choices to consider, like you can choose to use a rejuvenating oil, such as jojoba oil, or you can use a soothing oil like CBD oil.

Now, if you are going to go for CBD oil, make sure you buy premium CBD oil that was derived from hemp if you are in a state that doesn’t allow you to purchase marijuana-derived CBD oil. You want to apply a generous amount of oil to your body and lay down on a clean towel. Let the oils you choose work, so make sure you are ready to lay down for a few good minutes before you clean it off.

Detoxifying Moment

Your face and feet can gather a lot of toxins. The body is made to get rid of these toxins, but it can take a long time. The good thing is that you can squeeze in detoxification treatments into your spa day. What you are going to do is create two detoxifying treatments; one of them is going to be for your feet and the other for your face.

The one for your face is going to comprise of two tablespoons of bentonite clay and two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. When the mixture becomes a paste, you can apply it to your face. For your foot soak mixture, all you need to do is fill up your container with warm water, add two tablespoons of bentonite clay, and one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. You can let your feet soak for 15 to 20 minutes, which should be enough time.

The Magic Bath

After what you’ve done, you probably want to take a good bath. It may be a good idea to set up a small table next to your bathtub where you can keep a glass of wine or a glass of your water. Set up candles around the bath, maybe some with soothing scents like lavender. Have your Bluetooth speaker charged up so that you can listen to classical music or nature sounds as you take your bath.

Those who have enough time may want to consider investing in a small bathroom heater. You may not think this is a big deal, but you’ll love how cozy your bathroom feels. Plus, you won’t feel cold when you step out of your bath again. Be sure to turn off the light so that your candles create that full relaxing feeling a spa bath should. Taking all these steps may seem like a little too much, but if you do it, you’ll see that all your prep work was worth it.

If you have someone who can help you with your spa, then go ahead and ask for help because it does require a little work, but creating the perfect spa day isn’t impossible if it’s just you. You can do it yourself. There is no reason not to have to create spa days at least once a week so that your body can recharge.
